Robert Wright, a Seattle, Washington native, has criss-crossed the United States pursuing his dream of photography. He gives seminars and workshops on the subject and has produced posters of Disneyland and the Six Flags Theme Park in California. He took the picture of the Hilton at Dedham Place while touring the Boston area recently. This may seem unremarkable if you have not met Robert Wright. Mr. Wright is legally blind. He believes (and is proving) that visually impaired people are capable of much more than is generally expected of them. Photography has opened Robert Wright's world, and he wants to show others the way. According to Wright, with the advances in auto-focus cameras, even people with serious visual disabilities can take sharp, clear photographs. Passionate about photography, Wright has spent countless hours and much of his own money reaching out to other visually impaired people to show them that a hobby like photography is possible. Wright, who will be presenting a workshop at Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, has found a friend in Edmund Tucker, General Manager at the Hilton at Dedham Place."Robert overcomes challenges every day. He has devoted himself to helping others enjoy a hobby they may never have tried. He deserves a lot of credit." Mr. Tucker provides Wright with complimentary accommodations here at the Hilton while he is working in the area. "We are pleased to offer Mr. Wright a home-away-from-home while he devotes himself to helping others explore their own possibilities," Mr. Tucker said. |
